I finished ‘That’s Dallas’ after a wild experience in Texas, performing as a New Folk finalist at the wonderful @kerrfolkfest
I made a few rookie errors camping with my cello and had a little mishap with a flight change back to London from Dallas, but everything worked out in the end thanks to some kind friends.
I really wanted to record this track there and then in Dallas, but it felt a little raw performance wise. It found a place on Vol.2, which I never intended on making, but here we are 🙂
The title ‘That’s Dallas’ is also a nod to @theoffice US, which I tend to watch after a gig to unwind. There’s an episode with Kevin and the board game Dallas. S07E19. Long story, but I recommend watching it. That’s Dallas reminds me of a moment of chaos, but fun chaos, like travelling or touring.
I’m trying not to take this whole cellopickin’ style too seriously and just have fun with it 🙂
